RMRDC union lauds DG Ike-Muonso on staff welfare, others

The joint Congress of ASURI and NASU, representing the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, has commended the Director-General, Professor Nnanyelugo Martins Ike-Muonso, for prioritsing staff welfare since assuming office.

A press statement jointly signed by the chairman ASURI Comrade Fausta Ogbuefi and chairman NASU, Comrade Smart Osuoha, commended Prof. Ike-Muonso for his knack for the welfare of the staff.

“To start with, one would say, it’s a new dawn in the Council, knowing that prior to the appointment and assumption of office of the current Director-General/CEO, there was high level loss of hope and staff were sliding into depression in the system.

“Today, it’s on record that, with the receipt of just 50% of the Council’s quarterly allocations, the new Director-General/CEO, Prof. Nnanyelugo M. Ike-Muonso has demonstrated efficient management of resources, having paid the 2 months salary arrears, 3 months wage award arrears, driver’s non accident bonus, 1 year arrears of peculiar, Unions and cooperative societies deductions and many others.

“So, the new DG/CEO, Prof. Ike-Muonso, has reasonably reduced the debt profile he met on ground upon appointment as the substantive DG/CEO, RMRDC. Today, the both sister unions In the Council have gathered again in the spirit of strategic alliance  to hold their 2nd Joint Congress. But, in the Congress today, you can see it and feel it, that it’s a new dawn indeed.

“For the first time over the years, project advances are prioritized for payment upon approval. This is unlike the realities of the past, where approvals would be given for projects execution without payment. In some cases, it would take years for payments to be made, if they are ever made,” the statement added.
