Kemi Filani reported on Saturday that Debbie Shokoya had welcomed her first child, a baby girl, one year after losing pregnancy. The good news was made known by her colleague, Seiilat, who shared a photo of the pregnant movie star and a caption expressing gratitude over the birth of her child.

Confirming the news, Debbie shared a photo of her and her husband as she affirmed her love for him.

In another post, the new mum appreciated her colleagues for their show of love to her daughter. She revealed that Toyin Abraham, Nkechi Blessing, Dayo Amusa and others had sent her daughter money.

Recall that in August 2023, Debbie Shokoya in an emotional video on her Instagram page, tearfully recounted how she lost her pregnancy at 8 months. She noted how she sacrificed and went through a lot for her unborn child and even bonded with her child so well before the loss.

In December, she reflected on her painful pregnancy loss, noting how many pregnant women died with their child in their womb, and some died after giving birth. Debbie stated that though it didn’t go as planned, it went as God planned and she was grateful. She added that she knows pains and bruises but is stronger than them.

Early this year, the movie star released a movie she dedicated to her child with a touching note. She noted how some pain never goes away, they become part of one. She admitted that even though it’s traumatising, it makes one stronger. She credited her dead child for making her know she could sacrifice without giving a second thought, for paving ways without stress, and for making her strong.
