ABSIEC To Unveil Templates For Conduct Of LG Polls

The Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) in a bid to ensure transparency and inclusivity in the upcoming elections, under the leadership of its Chairman, Professor George N. Chima, will on Saturday September 21, unveil its programme of activities.

This significant event which is set to take place at the ABSIEC Headquarters Conference Hall, Ugurube Layout, Umuahia, will bring together key political stakeholders and the general public.

The unveiling, which is scheduled to begin at 11:00am, will serve as a crucial moment for political parties and other stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the election roadmap.

This follows the reconstitution of the commission on September 5th, by the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti.

All Party Chairmen and Secretaries from the 18 registered political parties in Abia State are expected to attend the briefing, where the ABSIEC’s plans for the local government chairmanship and council elections will be revealed.

The Commissioner in charge of Voter Education, Information, Publicity, and Training, Hon. Dr. Kelechi Kemjika Okere, in a statement on Friday, emphasised the commission’s commitment to an open and credible electoral process.

This development marks a critical step in ensuring grassroots governance thrives under democratic principles, with all eyes now on the commission’s efforts to uphold electoral integrity in the state.
