BREAKING: DSS Allegedly Invades SERAP’s Office

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) invaded the office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) in Abuja on Monday.

The group disclosed the development via its X handle, noting that the secret police had occupied its office and sought its directors.

SERAP said, “BREAKING: Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.

“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation and attack on the rights of Nigerians.”

The situation is happening less than 24 hours after the group issued President Bola Tinubu 48 hours to “immediately reverse the apparently illegal and unconstitutional increase in the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, across its retail outlets.”

The group urged the president to direct the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to immediately reverse the apparently illegal and unconstitutional increase in the price of petrol and to promptly probe alleged corruption in the NNPC.
