Eno Rewards Akwa Ibom Youth N310m For Shunning Hunger Protests

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has announced a N310 million cash reward in fulfilment of his promise to reward youths in the state for boycotting the recent #EndBadGovernance protest.

The Governor who announced the cheering news during a thank-you gathering in Uyo on Tuesday, said N10 million per Local Government Area (LGA), is to be shared among youths across party lines.

Governor Eno commended the youths for listening to his appeal to shun the protest, stating that their actions showed they were not ashamed to do well.

The Governor, while acknowledging the issues that led to the protest, which included hunger, unemployment, and high food prices, assured the youths that his administration was working to address them within available resources.

The Governor was however urged by the stakeholders at the gathering to complete the abandoned Ibom Science Park, initiated by former Governor Obong Victor Attah, to fast-track technological growth in the state.
