FCT Police Accuse NSCDC Of Hiding Alleged Ritual Suspect
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has demanded the release of an alleged Internet fraudster and money ritual suspect.
The suspect was allegedly taken into custody on Wednesday by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The suspect was arrested by the Civil Corps for an alleged attempt to endanger the life of a female victim in his hotel room.
A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh on Thursday was accompanied by a video that captured the victim, unclad, and confined to a seat where she had been tied up with tape.
Voices in the background further gave details of the situation, stating that the hotel only got wind of the suspect’s act after a staff member of its room service unit raised the alarm of potential threats in the suspect’s room.
THE WHISTLER gathered that after alerting the management, the suspect was demanded to untie the female victim while they contacted personnel of the NSCDC.
Since Wednesday, the FCT Police Command said, the NSCDC was yet to hand over the suspect.
The statement read: “The FCT police command is aware of the video footage making the rounds about a lady who was criminally confined in Top View Hotel, Wuse, Abuja on 17th September 2024 by an alleged Internet fraudster allegedly for money ritual.
“Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken the suspect into custody and is yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation.
“The FCT police command for all intent and purposes awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties for commencement of diligent and discreet investigation.
“Further development will be communicated in due course.”
