Beetlejuice Beetlejuice gave the title character a new job in the Neitherworld, and with that came new characters who worked for him, among them Bob, who, sadly, didn’t survive the movie. Seizing the ongoing trend of legacy sequels in the film industry, Tim Burton brought Beetlejuice and the Deetzes back for another chaotic but fun adventure in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The sequel took the audience back to Winter River after over three decades, as Lydia (Winona Ryder), Delia (Catherine O’Hara), and Lydia’s daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortage) returned to the town after Charles’ death.
However, when Astrid is tricked by a new friend into going to the Neitherworld and her life is at great risk, Lydia is forced to ask Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) for help. The bio-exorcist agrees in exchange for marrying Lydia, as he’s being hunted down by his deceased ex-wife, Delores, (Monica Bellucci), a soul-sucking witch. Helping Beetlejuice out throughout the whole movie is Bob, a shrunken-headed, loyal employee of Beetlejuice who, unfortunately, died while helping his boss – but he lived a long life, at least in the afterlife.

Bob Got A Tribute At The End Of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice revealed that the title character now had his own business. Beetlejuice was now the manager at the Afterlife Call Center, though how legit this business was in the Neitherworld is unknown – after all, it’s Beetlejuice. Helping Beetlejuice at the Afterlife Call Center was a team of shrunken-head men wearing bright yellow suits, each one working at their respective desks attending the calls. However, one employee stood out from the rest: Bob, who showed his loyalty to Beetlejuice at all times, and the bio-exorcist knew he could count on him.
Burton and company knew how special Bob would be to the audience, so they added an “In Loving Memory” tribute to him during the end credits.
Despite not saying a single word in the movie, Bob became a fan favorite from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and his death came as a surprise. It’s unknown how Bob died before Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but in the movie, he died again when Delores sucked his soul. Burton and company knew how special Bob would be to the audience, so they added an “In Loving Memory” tribute to him during the end credits, which revealed Bob was born in 1372, so he was 652 when he died in the afterlife.
It’s unlikely Bob died from having his head shrunken, and it’s possible that this happened once he arrived in the afterlife, just like it happened to Beetlejuice at the end of the first movie.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice brought some long-awaited answers to many questions left by the first movie, most notably Beetlejuice’s origin story. It was revealed that Beetlejuice died during the Black Plague, but not due to it. Beetlejuice met Delores and married her, but on their wedding night, Delores poisoned Beetlejuice. However, in one final act before he died, Beetlejuice took an axe and killed Delores, which is why she arrived in pieces to the afterlife and was kept in separate boxes, also for the safety of everyone in the Neitherworld.
Bob was born after the Black Plague, so there’s no way he and Beetlejuice could have met while they were alive.
Taking this into account, Beetlejuice is about 716 years old during the events of the sequel.
