Imo NSCDC First Female Commandant, Mbanugo Assumes Office

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) Imo State Command has in its rank, the first ever female commandant, Mary Mbanugo.

Mbanugo assumed office on Tuesday at the commands headquarters in Owerri after a brief handover ceremony from the former commandant, Matthew Ovye.

She promised to discharge her duties diligently and promised to do everything within her power to stop oil thieves and pipeline vandals.

She said: “We are going to put a human face in the discharge of our duties and no stone will be left unturned.

“My office is going to do everything within the law to clamp down on oil thieves, who are destroying our oil pipelines in the state.”

Mbanugo however urged residents to provide the corps with vital information that would assist the operatives in effectively carrying out their responsibilities.
