”Kindness begins at home” – Alex Unusual advises parents on how to raise their kids
BBNaija’s Alex Unusual’s latest post on Instagram had a melancholic tone to it, as she touched on a very sensitive topic, which is bullying.
In the video she posted, Alex Unusual recounted her experience in secondary school, and how it shaped her views about life.
She said that in secondary school, a colleague of hers was flogged by senior students until she passed out, and she had to piggyback her to the clinic, and upon arrival, she passed out herself because of the stress she went through.
Alex Unusual said that when she got back to the hostel, she was was flogged by senior students because according to them, she made them look bad by taking her colleague to the clinic.
Going forward, Alex Unusual addressed parents, stating that kindness starts from home, and as such, they should teach their kids to be kind, so they don’t go to school and bully others.
She also spoke about secondary school students who would be entering the senior class, and she advised them to avoid bullying others simply because they were also bullied when they were juniors.
Alex Unusual also hammered on the fact that some children may not have had the best holidays because of the current situation in the country, and as such, other kids should be kinder to them.
In her caption, Alex Unusual added;
”I wrote a letter to you.Send this to a parent, guardian or Teacher. Tag them if you know their handles.
Send it to other platforms. Show them if they are not on this platform or on social media. I’m not the nicest human on earth but I know that kindness goes a long way.
“Kindness starts at home. Let’s teach our children that their words hold power-to heal, to uplift, to make a difference.
When we show them how to stand against bullying and stand up for others, we plant the seeds for a kinder world”
