Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty Accused of Avoiding $500K Payment to Security Guard

Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are once again embroiled in controversy, this time for allegedly dodging a $500,000 settlement payment to a security guard. While Minaj continues to enjoy massive success in the music industry, controversies often arise when her husband’s actions come into play. The latest issue unfolded on September 17, when a security guard named Thomas Weidenmuller accused the couple of failing to pay a court-ordered settlement stemming from an incident in 2022.

The controversy dates back to an altercation in 2022 when Weidenmuller, a security guard, filed a complaint against Minaj and Petty. According to Weidenmuller, the conflict began when he confronted Minaj over her treatment of a female staff member. He claims the rapper responded by throwing one of her shoes at him. The situation escalated further when Kenneth Petty allegedly assaulted Weidenmuller at Minaj’s urging. The security guard initially sought $700,000 in damages but later agreed to settle for $500,000 when Minaj and Petty failed to respond to the lawsuit.

Despite the court ruling in Weidenmuller’s favor, he claims that Minaj and Petty have not complied with the judgment. According to reports by The Jasmine Brand, the couple is allegedly evading payment of the $500,000 settlement. Frustrated with the lack of response, Weidenmuller recently filed both a memo of costs and a writ of execution against the couple in September. These legal actions have increased the amount owed, with the total now standing at $526,110.74, up from the original $503,318.

This is not the first time Nicki Minaj has been involved in legal disputes related to security personnel. Back in 2019, she was accused of assaulting another security guard, adding to her and Petty’s history of troubling incidents.

Interestingly, this controversy surfaces amid another financial dispute involving Minaj herself. She recently made headlines for alleging that she is owed money. In a comment on DJ Akademiks’ TikTok, Minaj criticized JAY-Z’s Tidal platform, claiming she never received payment for her involvement as a partial owner. “I didn’t even get one red penny,” she stated, emphasizing her efforts to promote Tidal extensively alongside Beyoncé.

While Minaj and Petty have not publicly responded to Weidenmuller’s recent filings, their continued silence has sparked further speculation and criticism. The ongoing saga has only added to the couple’s reputation for being at the center of legal and personal drama. Whether they will eventually comply with the court’s orders remains to be seen, but for now, the controversy continues to generate headlines and public scrutiny.
