"Not 'Evil Witch'": Scarlet Witch Fans React To Westview Graffiti In Agatha All Along Premiere

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from the first two episodes of Agatha All Along.Passionate Marvel Cinematic Universe viewers are reacting to the Agatha All Along premiere. Kathryn Hahn has finally returned to the MCU timeline, only this time as the main character in her own series, following her popular debut in WandaVision. The release of Agatha All Along continues Agatha Harkness’ journey in the MCU, as she is now determined to get her powers back after being trapped in a spell by Scarlet Witch for nearly three years.

In Agatha All Along episodes 1 and 2, there were multiple nods to Scarlet Witch, to which a lot of MCU fans had strong reactions, especially following Wanda Maximoff’s death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Check out several examples below:

@itsjustanx felt the “EVIL WITCH” graffiti, as well as showing Wanda’s headpiece, was a sign of “they HATE hate her.”

@ScarletWitchUpd added that “this is nasty business” for the graffiti to label the Scarlet Witch as an evil witch.

@hannaeeliz was astonished that someone had gone to the lengths of adding “evil witch written on this foundation???” while reacting with a clip of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda crying in WandaVision.

In a follow-up tweet, @hannaeeliz added that Wanda “hasn’t done anything evil in her entire life,” despite how the Agatha All Along characters view her.

@lizzieonfilm referred to Wanda as “this cutie?” when seeing the “Evil Witch” call-out in the Agatha All Along premiere.

@AamirPhee kept it short and sweet with a simple, sad emoji, while including the shot of “Evil Watch” and Scarlet Witch being emotional.

@bewitchedwanda commented that “this is who they’re calling an evil witch,” while still being “afraid to call her by her name.”

@lizziescoven_ gave a detailed reaction by referring back to Steve Rogers’ speech in Captain America: Civil War while also including a reference to a deleted scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron where he was getting similar reactions from citizens, showing how Agatha All Along is mirroring that concept for Scarlet Witch.

@VasilIliev21 couldn’t believe that “this is the evil witch in question” after seeing Agatha All Along’s commentary on Wanda’s actions.

What Agatha All Along’s Fan Reactions Mean

Ever since Wanda’s death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a large portion of MCU fans have made it clear that they were not happy with the direction of Olsen’s character after WandaVision. If anything is clear from the reactions to Agatha All Along episodes 1 and 2, it’s evident that many do not look at Scarlet Witch’s actions in WandaVision as evil, as Wanda’s spell was a result of her grieving the loss of Vision. Despite the villainous path that she takes in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, many, rightfully so, look at her trajectory as part of Wanda’s grieving process.

It was always going to be a given that many would tune in to Agatha All Along after WandaVision, considering Agatha and Wanda’s connection in the Phase 4 series. Since the show is told from Agatha’s perspective, it is obvious that Wanda will not be viewed in a positive light. Even though time will tell if Agatha All Along brings back Wanda, it is expected that many MCU viewers will be keeping a close eye on the next few episodes to see what other nods and references there may be to Scarlet Witch.

Our Take On Agatha All Along’s Fan Reactions

It’s perfectly understandable why MCU fans feel as strongly as they do about Agatha All Along’s Scarlet Witch commentary. For anyone who has followed Wanda throughout her time in the MCU timeline, Scarlet Witch is one of the most tragic characters in the whole franchise and has had to overcome a lot of trauma throughout her time in the films and TV shows. Time will tell how Agatha All Along will address how other characters feel about Scarlet Witch over the next few weeks.
