The Lagos State Police Command has invited the national coordinator of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement, Juwon Sanyaolu, for a meeting.
In the invitation letter dated September 24, 2024, the human rights activist is to meet with the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola.
The letter was signed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department, Lagos State Police Command, Jaiyeoba Idowu Joseph.
The meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 25 September 2024, comes ahead of a planned nationwide protest, tagged โFearless In October,โ slated to begin on October 1.
The Take It Back Movement was one of the organisers of the #EndBadGovernance protest, which was held nationwide in August.
The letter read: โThe new Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, humbly invites you and your executive members for a meeting bordering on issues of national interest through the Assistant Commissioner of Police, in charge of the State Intelligence Department.
โThe meeting is scheduled as follows: Date: Wednesday, 25th September, 2024. Time 11:00hrs. Venue: CP Office, Police Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos.โ
On June 11, Sanyaolu was arrested by security agents in Lagos, a day before the June 12 Democracy Day protest.
He was, however, released two days later from the Ikeja headquarters of the state Police Command.
