RMRDC DG urges staff on research
The Director General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof. Nnanyelugo Martins Ike-Muonso, has called on staff of the Commission to contribute their expertise towards enhancing the future of research, technology and innovation in the country.
This collective effort, he said, is crucial for driving Nigeria’s economic growth and achieving an industrially vibrant and technologically resilient economy.
The RMRDC DG, who stated this on the commemoration of his 100 days in office, Tuesday in Abuja, added that the Council is on the verge of rewriting its history.
He said, “I believe that in no distant future, RMRDC will play a leading role in enhancing raw materials’ development to boost raw materials industrial processing and attain sustainable industrial growth in Nigeria.”
“Therefore, I invite all hands on deck as we strive to reshape the future of research, technology and innovation as driving elements for attaining an industrially vibrant and technologically resilient economy.”
He further said plans have been put in place to strengthen the Council’s productivity and operational efficiency.
Ike-Muoso said the Commission is set to collaborate with the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), for a series of well-tailored postgraduate programmes (PGD, MSC and PhD) in raw materials research and development. And also set up a centre of excellence in agro-raw-material technology with the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU).
He assured the workers that their welfare remains a top priority.
“Similarly, we established the RMRDC Training School to sustainably build staff and stakeholders’ capacity to further the staff welfare improvement goal. The RMRDC Training School has perfected partnership arrangements with the African University of Science and Technology [AUST], the Nasarawa State University, Keffi and the Kaduna Business School [KBS].
The establishment of the RMRDC Training School, in partnership with esteemed universities and business schools underscores a solid commitment to staff welfare and capacity building.
“By providing access to quality training and development opportunities, the RMRDC aims to enhance the skills of its workforce and stakeholders ultimately contributing to the organization’s overall effectiveness and success.”
Earlier, the Director Corporate Affairs Directorate Mr. Chucks Ngaha, commended the management of Commission for working and supporting the vision of the Council to reality.
