Uba Sani orders immediate repairs as flood cuts off 5 Kaduna communities

Kaduna state Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has ordered immediate reconstruction of Saminala-Marjire road after a devastating flood washed away a key bridge, cutting off five agrarian communities in Lere Local Government Area (LGA).

The flood, which affected Marjire and four surrounding villages, has severely hampered movement and commercial activities, leaving residents isolated.

Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Malam Liman Sani Kila, who led the Flood Impact Assessment Committee to the area, the governor assured swift action to alleviate the suffering of the affected communities.

“This road and bridge collapse requires urgent intervention. Five communities have been cut off, impacting their livelihood and access to essential services. The governor is fully committed to addressing this crisis immediately,” Kila said during the inspection.

He also noted that relief materials would be distributed to affected residents while repairs are underway.

Chairman of Lere Local Government, Hon. Mathew Bulus Gambo, praised the governor’s rapid response, describing the action as a sign of his administration’s dedication to the welfare of rural communities.

The committee also assessed other flood-hit locations, including Wawan Rafi Village, Nasarawa, and Ungwan Shuru in Saminaka township.
