A’Ibom Gov Releases Additional N2bn For Payment Of Gratuity

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has released an additional N2.1bn for the payment of gratuity for retired civil servants in the state.

The total of N35bn so far has been disbursed by the administration of Governor Eno to offset the gratuity debt owed retired civil servants in the state.

The governor made this known in a state wide broadcast on Friday where he assured that machinery of government and governance will continue to move seamlessly.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ekerete Udoh, “the release of the funds has significantly cut down the backlog of gratuities and represents a fulfilment of his campaign promise to pay down backlog of gratuities if elected, a pledge he has been fulfilling regularly.

“The breakdown of the latest payment is as follows:
N1.1 billion for retired State Civil Servants (Main), N500,000,000 for retired Primary School Teachers and N500,000,000 for retired Local Government Workers.”
