Breaking: Fire guts popular Kano textile market

A fire outbreak on Saturday night affected famous Kano textile market, Kantin-Kwari.

Good and properties worth millions of naira, belonging to shop owners were notably destroyed in a fire incident that happened late evening, Blueprint reports.

Blueprint reports that shop owners at the market battled to salvage the situation while the fire raged, all efforts fell apart.

One of the traders in the market, Alhaji Hamisu Sabo, who spoke to Blueprint narrated his experience.

He said, โ€œSomebody called me around 7:30pm today (Saturday) that the market is on fire. On getting there, it was only two shops that were already been burnt down, but all things are in control. So we are trying to look at the actual cause of the fire outbreak.โ€

Authorities are yet to speak on the incident as the time of filling this report.
