BREAKING: Justice Served As Police Arrest Lawmaker Alex Ikwechegh For Assaulting Driver—-Police authorities in Abuja have arrested Honourable Alexander Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives representing Aba North and South in the House of Representatives for assaulting Bolt driver.

 

The lawmaker was arrested following a report lodged at the Maitama Divisional Headquarters regarding the sad incident.

SP Josephine Adeh, Abuja Command spokesperson took immediate action upon receiving the complaint, leading to his detention.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that Mr. Abuwatseya was delivering a package to Hon. Ikwegh when a dispute arose concerning the method of delivery. During this altercation, Mr. Abuwatseya was reportedly physically assaulted.

“The FCT Police Command expresses grave concern over Hon. Ikwegh’s dismissive attitude toward the office of the Inspector General of Police following the incident.

“After allegedly slapping the victim, he reportedly remarked with contempt, “You can go ahead and call the Inspector General of Police,” demonstrating a troubling disregard for the authority of law enforcement.

“Currently, the suspect is at the Maitama Police Station undergoing questioning,” the police image maker said.

She further revealed in the statement that the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu has ordered for a comprehensive investigation into the matter while assuring of the Command’s commitment in conducting a transparent investigation and ensuring justice.

It added that appropriate legal action will be taken upon completion of the investigation.

TGM earlier reported that Honourable Alex Mascot Ikwechegh was caught on video threatening to make an Uber driver disappear and nothing will happen.

The unfortunate incident occurred during a delivery at his residence in Maitama, Abuja.
