No exclusive scholarship for Southern Kaduna – Kaduna

The Kaduna state government Thursday dismissed reports claiming that Governor Uba Sani unveiled a scholarship scheme through a private organisation, SKAID, exclusively for Southern Kaduna students.

In a statement by the senior special assistant to the governor on print media, Nasir Dambatta, the government stated that the SKAID Foundation’s initiative is a private effort and not a government-backed project.

The statement reaffirmed Governor Sani’s commitment to equal educational development of all students across the state, regardless of their geographic or ethnic background.

“The SKAID Foundation focuses on Southern Kaduna and it is a private initiative. Governor Sani’s policies prioritise inclusivity and the upliftment of indigent students across the entire state,” the statement reads.

Dambatta added that the clarification is   to correct misconceptions and prevent the politicisation of the governor’s efforts to promote educational development.
