Portuguese attacking midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, who plays and captains Manchester United, has reacted after his club fired their coach, Erik ten Hag on Monday.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Manchester United fired Erik ten Hag, following a streak of record-breaking poor performances. Their recent 2-1 defeat to West Ham United seems to have been the final straw, leading to Ten Hag’s dismissal.
“Thanks for everything boss! I appreciate the trust and the moments we share together, I wish you all the best in the future. Even knowing the last period hasn’t been great from all of us I hope you fans can keep with you the good things the manager has done for our club,” Fernandes stated via Instagram.
Erik ten Hag’s dismissal by Man United comes after a disappointing campaign, with the team currently sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table. Man U are currently sitting on 14th position in the Premier League table.
According to a club statement, Ruud van Nistelrooy will step in as the interim head coach, working alongside the existing coaching staff, as the search for a permanent head coach is underway.
The statement reads: “Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future. Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited”.
