Wheelbarrow pusher killed in Lagos auto crash

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) says a wheelbarrow pusher lost his life in an accident that occurred along Union Road by Cement bus stop, Dopemu.

Mr Taofiq Adebayo, Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, said this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.

“The accident was caused by a commercial LT bus with registration number EPE 474 YJ, which lost control due to excessive speeding and collided with a construction crane positioned at the roadside.

“LASTMA officers were swiftly on the scene, coordinating emergency efforts and securing the area.

“The impact of the crash led to the immediate fatality of a roadside wheelbarrow pusher,” he said.

Adebayo said the body was later handed over to security men from Afonja Police Station along with the deceased the severely damaged LT bus was also transferred to the police for further examination.
