All of Us Are Dead killed off one of the show’s most important characters, meaning that the zombie K-drama will be very different in season 2. All of Us Are Dead season 2 doesn’t have a release date, but it seems like it might only come out in 2026 since that filming has reportedly been pushed back to 2025. While the wait for All of Us Are Dead’s return has been frustrating, some things can be inferred about what season 2 will look like. For example, All of Us Are Dead 2 won’t have the webtoon to be based on.
With most of the source material being covered during the first season, it can be difficult to theorize what will happen in All of Us Are Dead season 2. However, the final episodes of season 1 can paint a pretty good picture of what the Netflix K-drama will be like now. Cheong-san’s death and Nam-ra’s return will surely inform season 2’s story, but so will the death of Nam So-ju. Without On-jo’s father, All of Us Are Dead may not have an adult main character to follow, giving the Hyosan students all the time in the spotlight.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Won’t Get To Follow Nam So-ju Like Season 1 Did
On-jo’s Father Was One Of The Main Characters In All of Us Are Dead
While most of All of Us Are Dead season 1 took place at Hyosan High, a significant portion of the show was set outside of school and followed On-jo’s father trying to reunite with his daughter. So-ju was on the other side of the city when the outbreak started and spent most of the season trying to go back to school to rescue his daughter. Not only did So-ju’s scenes give us a fun B-plot that helped with the pacing of the show, but they also allowed us to get a glimpse of what was happening outside the school.
While So-ju did reunite with his daughter, he immediately had to sacrifice himself and stay behind while the kids escaped.
All of Us Are Dead did have another B-plot with the two detectives trying to get the baby to safety, but they didn’t have as much screen time as So-ju. Now that On-jo’s father is dead, All of Us Are Dead has lost its main “adult character.” This means that season 2 might be entirely focused on the kids, who, at the end of season 1, realized no one was going to come to their rescue and had to save themselves. Given how important So-ju was in season 1, his absence in All of Us Are Dead 2 will be noticed.
Nam So-ju’s Death In All of Us Are Dead Was Heartbreaking, But It Needed To Happen
So-ju Would’ve Been An Easy Fix For All Of The Kids’ Problems
The death of On-jo’s father in All of Us Are Dead was one of the show’s most heartbreaking moments. We followed So-ju for several episodes hoping he would reunite with On-jo and would help the students escape, which seemed doable given that he was an experienced first responder who was trained to deal with extreme situations. However, while So-ju did reunite with his daughter, he immediately had to sacrifice himself and stay behind while the kids escaped. It was a bittersweet conclusion to one of All of Us Are Dead season 1’s main storylines.

Heartbreaking All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Theory Reveals Who The K-Drama’s New Villain Will Be
All of Us Are Dead season 2 will need new villains after how season 1 ended, and one of them may be a beloved character whose fate is unknown.
That said, On-jo’s father had to die for the story to progress. The point of All of Us Are Dead was that the kids were on their own – tragically, no one was going to come to save them. Even the ones who did, such as Cheong-san’s mother and On-jo’s father, weren’t able to do so. The military stopped any rescue missions as soon as they learned about asymptomatic zombies, which is why the Hyosan survivors couldn’t count on anyone but themselves. As a trained first responder, So-ju would’ve been an easy fix for all their problems in the long term.
Will All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Introduce New Adult Characters?
All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Might Have New Subplots
Apart from Song Jae-ik and Jeon Ho-chul, both of whom made it to the quarantine zone, there aren’t any important adult characters left in All of Us Are Dead. This could mean that the show will now just follow the Hyosan High survivors and won’t have any side stories featuring adults, but it could also mean that All of Us Are Dead season 2 will introduce new players. All of Us Are Dead’s next season might be a new beginning for the show with new characters and storylines, even more so after such a long wait.

All of Us Are Dead season 2 could potentially introduce new military characters and have them as the main antagonists, particularly because hambies like Nam-ra will continue to be seen as threats. There could also be new scientists trying to study the Jonas virus, potentially replacing Dr. Lee Byeong-chan’s role in the story. Regardless, All of Us Are Dead has plenty of ways to reinvent itself now that so many important characters from season 1 have been killed off.
