AVID Attributes Trump’s Victory To Care For Downtrodden

The American Veterans of Igbo Descent (AVID), Tuesday, attributed the victory of the President-elect of the United States, Mr Donald Trump, to his caring attitude for the downtrodden in “our nation and around the world”.

The group in a congratulatory message to Mr Trump, signed by its President, Dr Sylvester Onyia, and Secretary, Dr Godson Obiagwu, stated that Trump’s “political career advancement, motivated by humility, honesty” earned him the victory as the 47th president of the US.

According to the group, Mr Trump’s commitment to the “peace through strength approach in global affairs is truly admirable and crucial during these challenging times”.

They prayed that Trump’s”historic return to the White House offer a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between nations of goodwill”.

THE WHISTLER reports that AVID is a non-profit veterans’ organisation of Igbo men and women who served “honourably or are still serving in the armed forces of the US”.
