Kano Fire Service Saves 27 Lives, N370m Properties In Two Months

The Kano State Fire Service has said it rescued 27 people and saved property worth N370m from 54 fire incidents that occurred in September and October.

Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer for the Fire Service, disclosed this on Tuesday in Kano.

Within this period, Abdullahi stated, that the Fire Service faced significant challenges, with nine fatalities recorded and property valued at N141m lost to fire incidents.

Abdullahi also noted that the service responded to 22 emergency calls and addressed three false alarms from concerned residents across the state.

He further urged residents to remain vigilant, especially during the current harmattan season, which heightens the risk of fire.

Abdullahi stressed the importance of turning off electrical appliances when leaving homes or workplaces to prevent accidental fires.

He encouraged motorists to drive cautiously and adhere to traffic regulations to minimize road accidents.
