Landman Cast & Character Guide

Landman is the latest TV series from Taylor Sheridan, and as audiences have come to expect from his Paramount originals, the Western has an all-star cast. Taylor Sheridan is the television writer and mega-producer behind several TV shows, from Mayor of Kingstown to Tulsa King to his enormously popular Yellowstone franchise. While there are notable similarities between Landman and Yellowstone in their approach to the neo-Western genre, Taylor Sheridan has delivered something original in the new show.

Landman’s early reviews seem promising, with the series opening to an 82% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has continued Taylor Sheridan’s trend of positively reviewed television, following 1923 in early 2023. Not to mention, Yellowstone season 5, part 2, is airing simultaneously on Paramount Network, though the two shows aren’t connected. There are planned Yellowstone spinoffs set in the present day in development, but Landman is a standalone project.

Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris

Actor: Billy Bob Thornton is an American actor from Arkansas who gained widespread recognition in the late 1990s for writing, directing, and starring in the filmSling Blade. He’s starred in dozens of high-profile projects since the ’90s, from a small role in the Western Tombstone to his Golden Globe Award-winning role in season 1 of Fargo. Thornton earned another Golden Globe for Best Actor for the Prime Video drama Goliath. He also had a small role in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel series, 1883.

Character: Tommy Norris is the lead in Landman; a crisis executive at an oil company.

Ali Larter as Angela Norris

Born February 28, 1976

Actor: Ali Larter is an American actor from New Jersey who broke out in the late 1990s with roles in movies like Varsity Blues and House on Haunted Hill. She continued to find success in the 2000s with roles in the Final Destination franchise and the TV superhero drama Heroes. Larter also joined the video game adaptation franchise Resident Evil for several years, playing the character Claire Redfield. She hasn’t found as much success as of late, so Landman should be a return to form for the actress.

In 2024, she’s had a return to prominence with the FX TV series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans and playing the lead in the successful horror film, The Substance.
