Lagos State Governor and Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for Ondo State Governorship Election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun and Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, on Wednesday, stormed Akure to solicit support for the APC and its candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Sanwo-Olu, the Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, who arrived at the Akure Airport at 11:44 am along with Abiodun, was welcomed by a large crowd of APC supporters and members.

Sanwo-Olu, later joined other governors and party leaders to welcome Nigeriaโ€™s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, who touched down at the Akure airport at noon.

The Vice President is leading the mega rally to drum up support for the candidate of APC, Aiyedatiwa.

Also expected at the APC mega rally held at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park, Akure is the partyโ€™s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullai Ganduje, other APC governors, members of the National Assembly and party stalwarts to drum up support for the candidature of Aiyedatiwa.

During the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council by the party leadership in Akure last month, Sanwo-Olu assured his party, the APC, and the people of Ondo State that his team would not disappoint them in the upcoming November 16 governorship election.

He stated that the party aims to secure nothing less than 80 per cent of the total votes.

The governor called on party leaders and members to unite in support of APCโ€™s gubernatorial candidate, Aiyedatiwa, emphasizing that the campaign council would employ all constitutionally and professionally acceptable means to ensure victory over other political parties.

โ€œOn behalf of my entire team, most of whom are here today, we want to assure our party and everybody that we will do everything within our means; constitutionally and professionally to ensure that a free, fair, highly competitive election and campaign about issues is what we will be doing.

โ€œIt will not be a campaign on sentiment and abuse but on issues because Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has made our life a lot easier. We can boldly come out for Governor Aiyedatiwa because he has made us proud within his 305 days period as a governor of the state.

โ€œWe will go out with our full chest to campaign for him. We will not disappoint the party and the people of the state. We will win with nothing less than 80 per cent of the total votes,โ€ a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, quoted him as saying in a statement.
