“Only Heaven knows” – Patoraking breaks silence following burial of his sister and her husband who died in gas explosion

Nigerian singer Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, has spoken out following the burial of his sister and her husband.

Kemi Filani reported in August that the singer had lost his sister, Chioma, and her husband, George Onuabuchi, to a gas explosion in their home a day after holding their housewarming. His sister died on August 31 while her husband passed away on September 11.

On Friday, November 22, families and friends of the deceased held their wake-keep, and they were finally laid to rest on Saturday, November 23, in Ebonyi state.

Following their burial, Patoranking, via his Instagram story, shared a photo of a hand emoji as he stated that only heaven knows.

“Only Heaven knows”, he wrote.

Patoranking isn’t the only one who lost a sibling this year. In July, actress, Uche Jombo was left heartbroken after losing her younger sister. She revealed that the day her vacation ended, which was on a weekend, turned out to be the worst day of her life. She disclosed that she was a wreck, as grieving someone dear to her wasn’t in her 2024 cards, but she can’t question God.

Last week, singer Kizz Daniel had lost his mother-in-law. He revealed that his wife lost her mother to breast cancer, and he was mourning with her, as he called for prayers for the deceased.

Also this month, Big Brother Naija reality star, Hermes Iyele had lost his mother, Isioma Phebian Iyele. He stated that he was making the announcement public so he could properly start his grief and also because he lacked the strength or capacity to handle the situation. He urged the public to pray for them as well as assist them.

Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan also lost his mother this month. He shared that his mother’s demise was hard to accept, but her good life was a comfort to them. He also sought prayers for himself and his family during this phase.

In September, Popular skit maker Nasty Blaq lost his mother. In a brief post, Nasty Blaq prayed that God give him the strength to heal as he noted how his mother’s death was a great loss to his family.

Back in May, singer Chinedu Okoli, better known as Flavour, had lost his beloved father. The singer made the sad news known on his Twitter page, with a touching throwback video of him singing to his father. In his caption, he called his father Papa Ijele and told him to rest well.

In May, actress, Faithia Williams had lost her father. She announced his demise on her Instagram page, as she expressed sadness over his death and prayed his soul rests in peace. The likes of Tawa Ajisefinni, Foluke Daramola Salako, Bimpe Akintunde, Joke Silva, Yinka Quadri, and others consoled her.
