Osun: Teenager allegedly kills father inside cocoa farm

A teenager, whose name was simply identified as Saidi, has allegedly killed his father inside cocoa farm at Ilusi village in Atakumosa East, Osun state.

It was gathered that the deceased, who was popularly called ‘Baale’ was declared missing on October 31 before he was traced to the farm where he was found dead on November 1st with his head already cut off.

Findings showed that the boy went to the farm with his father to harvest cocoa before the incident.

Sources in the village said the boy was seriously beaten because people knew he went with his father to the farm to harvest cocoa.

“He denied, but later confessed to the killing after much torture by the angry people in the village,” sources said.

Another source in the village said, “The cocoa produce and the motorcycle of his father were still found at the scene of the incident. This made some people think that the boy was not the real perpetrator of the crime.”

It was gathered that the boy had been handed to the police and taken to Iperindo police station.

The police spokesperson in the state, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, saying, “I have been briefed. The boy is being detained by the police. Investigation is ongoing.”
