Sanwo-Olu To Present Lagos 2025 Budget To House Of Assembly Today

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will today, November 21, present the 2025 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the budget, themed “Budget of Sustainability,” is designed as a blueprint for continuity, resilience, and prosperity for Lagosians.

“It is structured around five key pillars, including Infrastructure Sustainability, Economic Diversification, and Institutional Reforms,” Omotoso said in a statement.

In December 2023, Governor Sanwo-Olu presented the 2024 budget estimates of N2.2 trillion to the assembly. That budget, titled “Budget of Renewal,” allocated N1.224 trillion (55%) to capital expenditure and N1.02 trillion (45%) to recurrent expenditure.

However, the assembly ultimately passed a total of N2.3 trillion for the state’s 2024 budget.

Omotoso noted that the 2025 budget is expected to be even more ambitious.

“Mr. Governor is expected to present an ambitious budget above the N2.3trn approved for Y2024,” he added.
