Spellbound Voice Cast & Character Guide

Produced by Skydance Animation for Netflix, Spellbound unites many well-known actors to give voice to a cast of interesting characters in a fantasy setting. The project is directed by Vicky Jenson, who has a long track record with animation films. Spellbound is a musical that acquired the talents of the legendary Alan Menken and longtime collaborator, lyricist Glenn Slater, to help create this fairytale-like adventure.




The story of Spellbound takes place in the magical land of Lumbria. It follows the princess of the Lumbria Kingdom, Eilian, whose parents are transformed into monsters. In the movie, she has to reverse the curse to save her family and future kingdom. The new Netflix fantasy animated film features a cast of high-end talents from the acting and singing worlds.

Rachel Zegler – Princess Ellian

Date of Birth: May 3rd, 2001

Born and raised in New Jersey, Rachel Zegler started performing in musicals when she was young, throughout high school. She started gaining notoriety through her YouTube channel in 2015. Her film career began when she was cast in Steve Spielberg’s West Wide Story after an open casting call where she shared videos of herself online singing songs from the famous musical. Since then, she has gone on to star in major Hollywood projects. She recently made her Broadway debut in Romeo and Juliet as Juliet and is set to star in Disney’s live-action Snow White adaptation in 2025.

Australian actress Nicole Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and moved with her parents to Australia when she was three. She starred in Australian productions early in her career but eventually made her way to Hollywood. She gained worldwide recognition in 1995 for her role in Batman: Forever with Val Kilmer. Since then, she has become among the most well-known names in Hollywood, with a multitude of roles in film and television earning Oscar and Emmy awards, along with multiple other accolades and nominations.

Javier Bardem – King Solon

Javier Bardem is a Spanish actor who was born in the Canary Islands. He comes from a family of Spanish filmmakers and made his feature film debut at the age of 21. He starred in various international films early in his career but broke through with his performance in No Country For Old Men. This role earned Bardem an Oscar and a Golden Globe. It also shot him into international fame. Since then, he has starred in a solid mix of big blockbusters and smaller independent films.

John Lithgow – Minister Bolinar

Born in Rochester, New York, John Lithgow’s storied career started when they studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Throughout his career, Lthgow has worked in Broadway theater and made his feature film debut when he was 27. His iconic voice has led him to be a narrator in works like Nova. Lithgow is most widely known for his role in the 1996 sitcom 3rd Rock From the Sun. His role in the series earned him multiple Emmy awards and a Golden Globe. He is more recently known for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in The Crown.

Jenifer Lewis – Nazara Prone

Date of Birth: January 25th, 1957

Jenifer Lewis was born near St. Louis, Missouri, and began her career on the stage in musicals. She moved to New York City in the 1970s and made her Broadway debut in 1979. She has worked in many roles as an actress throughout movies and television, earning herself multiple NAACP award nominations, among others. She became widely recognized for her role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from 1991-1996 as Aunt Helen. She also lent her voice in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog and Pixar’s Cars franchise.

His breakthrough was when he voiced Timon in The Lion King in 1994. Two years later, he starred alongside Robin Williams in The Birdcage. He has more recently been getting involved with television dramas such as The Gilded Age and Monsters. Nathan Lane’s storied career includes three Tony and three Emmy Awards.

Titus Burgess was born and raised in Athens, Georgia and debuted on Broadway in 2005. He is known for his high singing voice, or tenor, which has allowed him to excel in various musicals. Burgess achieved his breakthrough for his role as Titus in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. In 2016, he voiced Photog in The Angry Birds Movie. He also lent his voice to the 2019 Addams Family animated movie.

Spellbound also has a supporting cast for the background characters in the movie, including the widely talented Dee Bradley Baker, who is playing a cute purple creature with magical powers that will be a companion for Eilian on her journey.

Dee Bradley Baker as Flink Dee: Veteran voice actor Dee Bradley Baker, known for his work in dozens of video games and TV shows, voices a creature named Flink Dee.

John Ratzenberger as Milo: A character known in Spellbound as “Milo the Monster Hunter” is voiced by John Ratzenberger of Cheers fame.

Rich Moore as The Postmaster: Rich Moore, the director of Wreck-It-Ralph and its sequel, is the voice behind a minor Spellbound character referred to as “The Postmaster.”
