The cast of The Boys reunites as filming of the Prime Video series’ final season is set to begin. The Boys season 4 concluded with a game-changing shift as Homelander (Antony Starr) now controls the new President of the United States, Steven Calhoun (David Andrews). Homelander is the president in all but name and now has an army of supes at his command. With the show coming to an end, The Boys season 5 will be the final opportunity to defeat Homelander.
On Instagram, Mother’s Milk actor Laz Alonso shared a photo of The Boys cast reuniting as they prepare to film the series’ final season. In addition to Alonso, the picture includes Starr, Jessie T. Usher, Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, and Colby Minifie, who play the respective roles of Homelander, A-Train, Hughie Campbell, Billy Butcher, the Deep, Black Noir II, and Ashley Barrett. The picture is captioned “And just like thatโฆ.. weโre back!” Check out the picture below:
What This Means For The Boys Season 5
The Show Is On Track For A 2026 Release
Alonso’s picture confirms that filming for The Boys season 5 is about to start, which is consistent with showrunner Eric Kripke previously sharing that filming would begin in late November. Many members of The Boys‘ cast of characters have already reunited as they prepare for their stories to come to an end. Season 5 will be the last time that these characters share the screen together, barring any future appearances in the spinoff series Gen V, Vought Rising, or any other spinoffs.

The Boys is ending with season 5, and while that might be disappointing to fans of the Amazon show, it feels like the right time to wrap things up.
With filming just starting now, The Boys season 5 is expected to debut in 2026. This would be consistent with the two-year hiatuses between seasons 2 and 3 and between seasons 3 and 4. However, there will still be new stories from The Boys‘ universe debuting in 2025 with the release of Gen V season 2. Production has already wrapped on Gen V‘s sophomore season, and with it releasing before The Boys season 5, the events in the original show’s final season will take place after season 2 of the spinoff.
Our Take On The Boys’ Cast Reunion
It Is Bittersweet
Seeing the cast reunite ahead of season 5 filming is bittersweet. It is always exciting to see the cast together, and to know that the story is set to continue and conclude after the dramatic ending of The Boys season 4. At the same time, it is difficult to know that this is the last time the cast of the Prime Video series will unite to film the show that has been one of the best in recent years. For now, anticipation for The Boys season 5 outweighs any disappointment about the show ending.
