The Zamfara state government says arrangements has reached advance stage to pay N70, 000 as minimum wage to the state’s workforce.
The state head of service and steering committee chairman of the verification of workers in the state, Barr. Ahmed Liman, stated this while addressing newsmen.
According to him, the ongoing verification exercise will be completed by the end of this month.
“Our verification team are working round the clock to meet the timeframe as directed by the state governor Dauda Lawal,” he said
He further hinted that similar verification committee was also constituted in all the 14 local government councils for the screening process of the local governments workers to ensure uniformity on the N70,000 minimum wage implementation.
He urged the entire civil servants to comply with the verification exercise in order to enable the committee conduct the exercise successfully.
