Zamfara state former governor, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, weekend commended security agencies for their dedication to stop banditry in North-west, saying their commitment will give 85 percent of farmers the chance to go back to their farming activities during the next rainy season.
He made the assertion while fielding questions from journalists at his residence in Talata Mafara Town the headquarters of Talata Mafara local government.
He said peace is gradually returning as a result of rigorous fighting by the military against the dreaded terrorists in Zamfara and other states affected by banditry in North-west.
“So far, with the commitment put in place by the military and other sister security agencies in the fight against banditry, the issue of banditry will be addressed to barest minimum before the next rainy season,” he said.
Senator Yari commended the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for addressing insecurity in the north-west.
“Indeed, President Tinubu is trying his possible best in ensuring that peace returns to the North-west and we will continue to support him to attain the desired goals in that direction,” he said.
He urged people in Zamfara state and Northwest to continue praying for the success of President Tinubu’s government, particularly on the issue of insecurity in the region.
