NASC makes u-turn on Atiku as NASS deputy clerk

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has replaced Alhaji Ibrahim Atiku with Bashir Yero as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly.

The commission had last week appointed Ibrahim Atiku as deputy clerk to the National Assembly. But a statement signed by its deputy director (Information) , Emmanuel Anyigor, said Yero is to take over from Atiku as deputy clerk while Atiku moves to the Directorate of Procurement as secretary.

The letter dated 24th December, 2024 reads:”The National Assembly Service Commission has approved the appointment of Bashir Aminu Yero as the deputy clerk to the National Assembly.

“The commission approved Yero’s appointment during an emergency meeting of the commission held Tuesday.

“This is even as the commission further approved the appointment of the director of Finance & Accounts, Ibrahim Atiku as the Secretary of the Directorate of Procurement and Supplies.

“On the other hand, Engr. Liman Baba Sanda,former Secretary of the Directorate of Procurement & Supplies has been re-deployed as the Secretary of Estate and Works.

“In their respective appointment letters signed by the executive chairman of the commission, Ahmed Kadi Amshi, the Commission noted that the elevations and redeployment were in recognition of their hard-work and administrative competence

and therefore enjoined them to continue to uphold the confidence reposed in them.

“The appointments and redeployment, the commission emphasized, would take effect from 2nd February, 2025.”
