The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Sokoto state chapter, has pledged to provide education scholarships to orphans in the orphanage facility of the state.
The State Chairman of the association Malam Ahmad S. Fada made this announcement during the NAPPS Award night on Saturday.
The chairman said the gesture is in line with the association’s commitment to giving back to the community and promoting social responsibility.
He said that NAPPS is committed to promoting excellence in the education sector and providing support to the community.
According to him, there are three hundred and forty-six private schools in the state that have employed over eight thousand teaching and non-teaching individuals
“Private schools do not only provide education in the state, but we contribute immensely to the socio-economic development of the state.
He urged other stakeholders and the community to partner with them in providing qualitative education in the state.
Speaking at the Award Night, the commissioner for Basic and Secondary School education in the state Alhaji Tukur Alkali who was represented by the Director administration of the ministry Abubakar Umar Salame said that education is one of the nine-point agenda in the state and is doing a lot of project in that sector.
According to him, looking at the population of students in the state, the private schools are complementing the effort of the state government “We are in support of them.”
The District Head of Dange Alhaji, Bello Usman, said that private schools have helped in addressing the wide gap in qualitative education.
He called on wealthy individuals to contribute more quarters in the education sector to have a more productive education system in the state.
