Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has declared that he will seek divine intervention, not from public critics, for his re-election bid in 2027.
Speaking during a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) members at the Government House in Katsina, Radda emphasized that his mandate is divinely ordained and will rely on God for continuity.
The governor made the statement while addressing APC stalwarts ahead of the state council elections scheduled for February 15.
Speaking in Hausa, he criticized detractors who believe he must turn to them for support in the next general election.
“Some people have circumcised themselves to side talks saying it is a period of four years I will do and come back to them, but who told you that I am coming back to you?” Radda questioned.
“For me, I will return to He (God) who gave me this mandate in 2023 to seek my re-election in 2027. All of you here have contributed in one way or the other to make this party become what it is today,” he added.
Radda further dismissed the era of electoral malpractice, such as ballot box hijacking, vowing to maintain a transparent electoral process.
He urged APC members to intensify efforts to mobilize grassroots support for the party in the forthcoming council polls.
The governor’s remarks come amid growing scrutiny from opposition figures and critics questioning the direction of his administration.
However, Radda reaffirmed his commitment to the party and his divine mission, urging party loyalists to stay united for future victories.
