"No Bathroom": This 3-Year-Old Quote From The Mandalorian Star Explains Why Din Djarin Needs A New Starship

3 years ago, Pedro Pascal shared his thoughts on Din Djarin’s new N-1 starfighter in The Mandalorian, the ship that was meant to replace his trusty Razor Crest. Audiences have long since been torn between the titular Mandalorian’s two ships, with the Crest being much more suitable for Din’s life as a bounty hunter and a father, while the N-1 brings a fond sense of nostalgia for those who love the Star Wars prequel trilogy. They both have something valuable to offer Din, but Pascal’s thoughts on the N-1 continue to reign true, especially now.

Speaking to IGN at Star Wars Celebration 2022 (in a quote resurfaced by X user mando_musings), Pascal was asked about his preference between the Crest and the N-1. The Din Djarin actor confessed that he loved “seeing the new [ship] fly around,” but that “there isn’t a lot of space” and, perhaps most importantly, “there’s no bathroom.” Considering the fact that the clear view of the “vacc tube” on the Razor Crest has long since been a fan-favorite detail, this observation by Pascal is both hilarious and relevant, especially now that he’s back to bounty hunting.

Why Pedro Pascal Is Absolutely Right About Din Djarin’s Ship

He’s Outgrown It Already

As comedic as this exchange is, particularly the part where they discuss Din towing carbonite-frozen bounties and even porta potties, Pascal still has a point with what he’s saying here about both the Razor Crest and the N-1. The Mandalorian season 3’s ending sees Din Djarin become an independent contractor for Captain Carson Teva and his New Republic rangers, who will assign him under-the-table bounty huntings jobs with Imperial targets. If Din’s going back to bounty hunting, then the N-1 simply won’t do anymore.

What Happened To The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest Ship

The Mandalorianโ€™s Razor Crest ship has taken its place among other iconic Star Wars ships. But why isnโ€™t he flying it in The Mandalorian season 3?

There isn’t any space on the N-1 for Din to store anything or anybody, and if he and Grogu are going to be spending a lot of time in transit from place-to-place the way they did in seasons 1 and 2, they need to go back to something more like the Crest. That ship had two different levels, and it certainly had a bathroom on board. It allows the two of them to store cargo and still live comfortably even while they cross the galaxy, completing Din’s jobs and Grogu’s Mandalorian apprentice journeys. This is why Pascal is absolutely right.

It Looks Like The Razor Crest Could Be Coming Back, After All

Din Djarin holds the controls of the Razor Crest as Grogu puts his hands up in the background

It seems that Star Wars has at last acknowledged this problem, too, as exclusive footage from the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie shown at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event last August showed a brand-new Razor Crest. While that specific vessel seemed to belong to Zeb Orrelios, the mere fact that it was shown teases that it could eventually belong to Din, rewarding him with the ship he was trying to get all along. The Mandalorian has made it absolutely essential for Din to have a ship like the Razor Crest, and it looks like that’s what he’ll finally get.
