Daredevil: Born Again Show Cast & Marvel Character Guide

Daredevil: Born Again brings back several iconic Marvel characters, as well as new actors into the world of the MCU. After the cancelation of Marvel Television’s Netflix series in 2019, the fate of the Defenders and Netflix’s stories hung in the balance. After a string of cameo appearances from Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Daredevil in the MCU, it was only a matter of time until he would lead his own story again. Now that Daredevil: Born Again has premiered, the future of the character in the MCU looks bright, with a great cast of characters around him in the show.

Daredevil: Born Again sees the return of a select few actors from Marvel Television’s Netflix shows, two of which have already appeared in the MCU timeline via projects such as Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hawkeye, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. As the vigilante protector of Hell’s Kitchen, Daredevil finds himself going up against Kingpin in his first leading role in a Marvel Studios production, now firmly set within the world of the MCU.

Charlie Cox As Matt Murdock, A.K.A. Daredevil

Actor: Charlie Cox rose to prominence as an actor in the Netflix Daredevil series but has been working for over two decades, with roles in projects like Boardwalk Empire, The Theory of Everything, and Stardust. He also did theater at the West End.

Character: Matthew Murdock makes his leading debut within the MCU after appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo. The series is a follow-up to the original Netflix series and will see Matthew Murdock continue to struggle with leading a double life as Daredevil while his conflict with Fisk, Bullseye, and Muse come to a head.

Vincent D’Onofrio As Wilson Fisk, A.K.A. Kingpin

Actor: Vincent D’Onofrio has been working in film and television for decades, with prominent roles in a number of significant projects that include Full Metal Jacket, Strange Days, The Cell, and Jurassic World. He returns to his iconic character after first appearing as Wilson Fisk in Daredevil back in 2015.

Character: Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk from Daredevil after showing up in Hawkeye and Echo before Daredevil: Born Again. The series explores Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) running for mayor of New York City, as well as his continued conflict with Daredevil.

Elden Henson As Foggy Nelson

Born August 30, 1977

Actor: Elden Henson has been acting since he was a child, with several projects starting at just five years old. He has appeared in The Mighty Ducks Trilogy, both parts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, The Mighty, and She’s All That.

Character: Foggy Nelson is the best friend of Matthew Murdock as well as his law partner, who have been working together for years, largely defending clients pro bono. He is a significant aspect of Matt’s life and looks to continue to be in Daredevil: Born Again as new challenges await these characters.

Deborah Ann Woll As Karen Page

Born February 7, 1985

Active Since: 2006

Actor: Deborah Ann Woll originally made a name for herself as an actress through the HBO series, True Blood, before joining Netflix’s Daredevil. Alongside those popular roles, she has appeared in Mother’s Day, Ruby Sparks, Escape Room, and The Punisher.

Character: Karen Page is one of the most significant love interests in Daredevil history, and while the original Netflix series explored that aspect of the character, she grew far beyond that, finding her own story to tell. She is a partner alongside Foggy and Matt at the Nelson, Murdock, and Page law firm. It will be interesting to see if Daredevil: Born Again chooses to explore her relationship with Matt again.

Wilson Bethel As Benjamin Poindexter, AKA Bullseye

Born February 24, 1984

Active Since: 2004

Actor: Wilson Bethel made his on-screen debut in one episode of The O.C. before securing a major role in the daytime soap The Young and the Restless. After that, he found himself in several other major roles in Hart of Dixie and All Rise. He was a significant character in Daredevil season 3.

Character: Benjamin Poindexter, AKA Bullseye, first appeared in Daredevil season 3 and proved to be one of the most significant threats Daredevil ever faced. He returns to Daredevil: Born Again, no longer impersonating Daredevil, stepping into his Bullseye persona instead.

Margarita Levieva As Heather Glenn

Born February 9, 1980

Active Since: 2004

Actor: Though she has appeared in small roles for several films like Adventureland, Sleeping With Other People, and The Loft, Margarita Levieva has largely worked in television. She has had recurring or lead roles in shows like Revenge, The Blacklist, Allegiance, and The Deuce.

Character: Margarita Levieva plays Heather Glenn in Daredevil: Born Again, a therapist who is also the main love interest for Matt Murdock. The two characters have very different views of vigilantism, which is explored throughout the series.

Jon Bernthal As Frank Castle, A.K.A. The Punisher

Born September 20, 1976

Active Since: 2002

Actor: Jon Bernthal is one of the most electric actors working today, with stellar performances in a variety of roles. Some of his most significant ones include The Bear, Fury, The Punisher, and The Walking Dead, where he played Shane Walsh over the course of several seasons.

Character: Frank Castle, otherwise known as the Punisher, makes his first appearance in the MCU after appearing in Daredevil and leading his own show, The Punisher. Operating as a vigilante with a much different code of morality compared to Daredevil, the two often come into conflict about it. It’s unclear just how large of a role Frank will play in Daredevil: Born Again, but there seems to be significant plans for the character in the MCU as Bernthal will reprise the role for a Marvel Special Presentation of the character.

Daredevil: Born Again Supporting Cast & Characters

Kamar de los Reyes as White Tiger: White Tiger makes his debut in the MCU as a vigilante that uses amulets to give him his powers. He is also the client of Matt Murdock. It is the last role of the late Kamar de los Reyes.

Undisclosed Actor as Muse: The terrifying Daredevil villain makes his first appearance in the upcoming show. Muse is a graffiti artist and serial killer who comes into conflict with Daredevil. His actor is currently unknown.

Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk: Ayelet Zurer returns as Vanessa Fisk, the wife of Wilson Fisk, otherwise known as Kingpin. She played a significant role in the development of Kingpin’s character in the original series.

Hunter Doohan as Unknown Character: A mystery so far, Hunter Doohan’s character has not been given a name yet, as he is seen at a book signing. It is possible that he will be revealed to be Muse at some point.

Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake: The character is a member of Wilson Fisk’s mayoral staff and looks to be his protégé.

Genneya Walton as BB Urich: BB Urich operates as a young journalist in Daredevil: Born Again, who has a connection to Ben Urich, a significant character who was killed in the original series.
