I Think I've Worked Out Who Laura Mohr's Kid Is After Shoresy Season 4

Season 4 of Shoresy moved the foul-mouthed former hockey captain’s personal life forward more than ever, and with Laura Mohr set to potentially become a bigger part of the show, the timing is right for Shoresy to introduce her kid. So far, Laura has not let Shoresy meet her child, either keeping him out of the house or waiting until they were asleep to socialize. To Laura, involving her child with any guy she was seeing was something to be earned, and was part of the reason why she put Shoresy through the ringer during season 4.

While that makes sense for the narrative, it does seem somewhat odd that there has been no reveal of Laura’s child, yet she continues to mention them. It feels like something that Shoresy is building to, intentionally obscuring the child’s identity for some sort of key scene in the future. Shoresy has already had some entertaining interactions with kids and teenagers during the show, so his interactions with Laura’s child would almost certainly be worth the wait. However, I think it’s possible that the audience has already met Laura’s kid, which would make the reveal that much more hilarious.

Shoresy Season 5 Can Finally Fulfill The Biggest Jared Keeso Character Moment We’ve Been Waiting For Since Letterkenny Season 1

Season 4 of Shoresy saw Jared Keeso’s foul-mouthed former hockey player become a coach, but season 5 can provide an even bigger Jared Keeso moment.

Laura Mohr’s Kid Could Be Liam Or Cory

The Ultimate Payoff To Shoresy’s Mom Jokes

Shoresy tormenting Cory and Liam in Shoresy season 4

Shoresy thankfully continued a running gag from Letterkenny, in which Shoresy was introduced as a teammate of Reilly and Jonesy, the hockey players who crossed paths frequently with the other major characters. In Letterkenny, Shoresy would occasionally fire off a string of wildly inappropriate but gut-bustingly funny “your mom” jokes, all of which were based upon the idea that Shoresy was sleeping with their moms routinely. In Shoresy, that gag has continued, but with Shoresy as a high school hockey ref, and with two players named Liam and Cory as his targets.

The ultimate payoff to the gag would be if Shoresy actually wound up sleeping with one of their moms, who could absolutely wind up being Laura Mohr. Laura Mohr actress Camille Sullivan is 49 years old, meaning a high school-aged son is perfectly reasonable from a timeline perspective. As a journalist, it’s not unreasonable to think that she works odd hours and maybe doesn’t get to most of her son’s hockey games, which is why she’s never appeared at a game Shoresy has refereed. It would be an incredible reveal that would no doubt see Shoresy address his past insults.

There’s One Other Perfect Choice For Laura Mohr’s Kid In Shoresy

It Would Pay Off Another Long-Running Gag

Another option for Laura’s kid would pay off in a similar way, and might make even more sense than Liam or Cory. Jory Jordan has plagued Shoresy for multiple seasons now while acting as the host of the Sudbury Kids Sports Report, so seeing Shoresy get vengeance for his incessant criticism by playing the role of his stepdad would be a wonderfully ironic twist of fate. His mom being a journalist would certainly explain Jory’s chosen career pather, and Laura has even acknowledged him before, accusing Shoresy of “stepping out on me with that other guy” in reference to Jory.

Making Jory Jordan Laura Mohr’s son is the perfect way to keep him involved without forcing or wearing out his schtick.

Jory is also a tremendous character as the heir-apparent to Shoresy’s patented brand of insult humor. As a fan-favorite, it stands to reason that Jared Keeso would look to find a way to keep him in the show even if Shoresy is no longer playing or acting as a TV personality. Making him Laura Mohr’s son is the perfect way to keep him involved without forcing or wearing out his Sudbury Kids Sports Report schtick. No matter who it winds up being, it seems inevitable that Shoresy introduces Laura Mohr’s kid in the upcoming season 5.
