Invincible Season 3 Hilariously Confirms A Character Who Appeared In Seasons 1 & 2 Has Always Been A Joke

Warning: Contians SPOILERS for Invincible season 3, episode 6!

A lot of villains return in Invincible season 3, but the show hilariously confirmed that one villain was always a joke after he appeared in seasons 1 and 2. The world of Invincible is packed full of supervillains, with Invincible, the Guardians of the Globe, and all kinds of other heroes taking on the various antagonists throughout the three seasons. While the main villains like Omni-Man, Angstrom Levy, and The Order are memorable, the same can’t be said for others, such as this joke villain who returns in Invincible season 3.

Invincible season 3, episode 6 is one of the most important in the season, with it finally introducing Powerplex to the world of the Amazon Prime Video series. Powerplex considers himself to be the arch-nemesis of Invincible, with him wanting to kill Mark Grayson due to his fight with Omni-Man from season 1. However, another Invincible season 1 storyline returns in season 3, episode 6, with it revolving around this joke villain.

Oliver’s Fight Against Elephant Proves The Villain Was Always A Joke In Invincible

He Is Used As A Training Dummy

The aptly-named elephant-themed villain Elephant returns in Invincible season 3, episode 6, and his role in the story proves that the character was always a joke. In the episode, Elephant returns, with him rampaging near a Burger Mart. Rather than taking on Invincible this time, however, Elephant faces off against Kid Omni-Man, with Mark letting Oliver fight the brute as a training lesson.

Invincible season 3 finally tells Cecil’s origin story, but it manages to cut out one major Image Comics crossover character who is essential.

When Elephant finds out that he is being used as a practice dummy, he gets pretty upset, attempting to advocate for himself as a serious villain. Mark then points out that Nolan had him fight Elephant for practice back in Invincible season 1, highlighting that this was always his role in the show. Elephant has never posed a serious threat throughout Invincible, with him being the lowest rung in Invincible‘s villain ladder.

Invincible Season 3 Did The Same Thing To Doc Seismic In Episode 1

But He Graduated From His Joke Villain Status

Elephant isn’t the only villain that Invincible season 3 has explicitly made fun of, as they do the same thing to Doc Seismic in Invincible season 3, episode 1. In the episode, Doc Seismic manages to capture nearly all of North America’s superheroes. This shocks Cecil and the GDA, as the goofy villain was previously perceived as not being a threat.

Invincible Season 3 Quietly Recast One Of Its Biggest Stars From Season 1

One of the best characters from Invincible has finally returned in season 3, and while he was voiced by a massive star, this is no longer the case.

Invincible‘s characters make fun of Doc Seismic for his silly themeing and goofy mad scientist aesthetic, something he takes offense to. While the world of Invincible is populated with all kinds of serious villains, unlike Doc Seismic, Elephant still hasn’t proven why anyone should take him seriously.
