Bode went through his fair share of trouble in Fire Country
season 3’s second half, but one of his decisions in season 3, episode 14 finally revealed how much in control he seems to be despite all his problems. Having to face his old coach Drew Kimbro, whose behavior deeply influenced how Bode reacted after his injury stopped his baseball career and everything that followed with Bode’s pain meds addiction, was already extremely difficult, but it became Bode’s biggest challenge in Fire Country season 3 after the losses Bode experienced in the previous calls and Kimbro’s parting gift to Bode.
Gabriela easily deciphering how Bode needed someone on whom to lean after not saving Rafael and having nightmares about his death highlighted how Bode had a support system, including Gabriela as a friend in Fire Country season 3. Still, Bode holding on to Kimbro’s pills as Fire Country season 3, episode 14 showed could have brought forth a possible relapse for Fire Country’s protagonist, undoing all the work Bode did on himself since joining Three Rock. Fire Country season 3, episode 14’s ending thankfully revealed Bode’s real intentions about the meds, making it less likely for Bode’s relapse to happen.
Bode Sharing The Truth About Drew’s Pills With Audrey Shows Accountability
Bode Kept Them But Didn’t Use Them & Now Somebody Knows
Bode’s confession to Audrey in Fire Country season 3, episode 14 marked a massive change in how Bode faced a problem, showing he understood Luke’s suggestion of relying on his support system to overcome the difficulties of firefighting. Bode telling Audrey he kept Kimbro’s pills made Bode’s actions more real, as somebody else besides him also knew that Bode, a known addict, could have accessed something he clearly wanted but that would have destroyed his sobriety. The simple act of sharing that with Audrey made Bode more accountable, as Audrey now knew what was happening if Bode started behaving erratically.

Jake and Bode’s risk assessment trip turned into rescue as they tried to save Rafael highlights a connection between Bode’s disobedience and his past.
Sharing he made the mistake of keeping the pills even after the moment of shock of receiving them made someone else aware of Bode’s poor judgment, along with the certainty Bode had wanted to take them, but knowing he didn’t because Bode had admitted all of this to Audrey also strengthened his resolve. Confessing everything to Audrey wasn’t only a way to trust her with something deeply personal for Bode, essentially taking a leap of faith in their relationship, but also an action plan to be made accountable if Bode ever failed to resist the urge to take Kimbro’s pills.
Bode’s sobriety was established early in Fire Country season 1, being a key part of his past and his journey to earn his Three Rock spot, with the camp embodying how Bode had deserved the opportunity of getting a second chance.
How Fire Country Season 3’s Three Rock Threat Can Still Harm Bode However
All Those Bode Lost & Three Rock Being In Danger Can Still Hurt Him
Despite Bode making the right choices in Fire Country season 3, episode 14, he is far from being out of the woods. Losing Rafael and Birch and the even most haunting prospect of Three Rock being hurt and Manny being the next to suffer from the unusual illness plaguing the fire camp make Bode’s relapse still a tangible risk. Were Bode able to continue channeling the important lesson Luke taught him about having a support system and relying on them, he can risk infinitely less in Fire Country season 3, continuing being sober and facing his problems the right way.
