The White Lotus season 3, episode 4’s ending saw an unknown thief take a gun from the security hub of the titular hotel. Given that The White Lotus‘ unknown victim from season 3, episode 1’s opening was seemingly killed by multiple gunshots, this certainly spells bad news for the future of the show. That said, it is currently unknown which of The White Lotus‘ many characters met an untimely fate in the premiere’s flashbacks, just as it is equally unclear who stole the gun.
After the reveals of The White Lotus season 3, episode 3, episode 4 only further dialed up the tension regarding the show’s many characters. Rick finally opened up to Chelsea in a rather sweet scene about what he truly intends to do in Thailand, while the Ratliff family’s various members fell further into their spiral of drugs, booze, sex, or – much more uncontroversially – moving away from home. Meanwhile, The White Lotus‘ Greg/Gary risks being exposed. The White Lotus season 3, episode 4 already has these storylines teetering towards boiling point, with the theft of a gun only adding fuel to the fire.

In the final moments of The White Lotus season 3, episode 4, Gaitok is shown looking at a gun he has been handed to further increase his security over the titular hotel. Gaitok becomes distracted by Mook, a colleague he has feelings for, and walks her back to the hotel. Timothy is then shown on the phone to his lawyer amid his money laundering, fraud, and embezzlement issues before angrily hanging up the phone and spotting the gun that has been left on the counter in Gaitok’s small office.

Timothy Ratliff in The White Lotus season 3 is facing an impending legal issue based on a shady fund he helped set up with an old business associate.
This scene is then followed by Timothy’s return to the hotel, where Pam asks, “Would you like to give that back now?” Timothy nervously asks what she is talking about, with Pam referencing his phone that he took from a safe earlier in the episode. Timothy complies, but the shady nature of his movements and speech pattern imply that he was the one who stole the gun. During his earlier phone call, Timothy stated that he would rather die than face the consequences of his trial, potentially explaining why he stole the gun.
All that said, this could be a red herring. Timothy could simply be nervous from his phone call and slightly confused due to the pills he has become somewhat reliant on, meaning he may not have taken the gun at all. Instead, Rick could have swiped the gun when he was leaving the White Lotus for Thailand as he intends to get revenge on Jim Hollinger.

Belinda Could Be A Victim Of Greg’s Evil Plans
Another subplot of The White Lotus season 3, episode 4 saw Belinda figuring out that “Gary” is actually Greg, Tanya’s ex-husband from The White Lotus seasons 1 and 2. Belinda realizes that Greg was wanted for questioning by the police after Tanya’s death but that he went AWOL. Evidently, Greg is aware that Belinda knows who he is, as highlighted by his search of her on Instagram at the end of The White Lotus season 3, episode 4.
This begs the question of what Greg is planning. Of course, Greg is no stranger to sinister plans after trying to have Tanya killed in The White Lotus season 2 so he could take her wealth. Although his plan did not work, Tanya still died, leaving Greg immensely rich. In order to protect his newfound affluence and avoid jail time, Greg could be planning to kill Belinda – or at least silence her in another way, such as blackmail – in The White Lotus season 3.
What Jim Did To Rick’s Father & Why He Wants Revenge

The final major reveal of The White Lotus season 3, episode 4’s ending concerned Rick’s search for Jim Hollinger. Rick revealed that, despite never knowing his father, he had been told by his mother that he was a good man. Rick’s father apparently tried to help some Thai locals from losing their land to an American businessman. Apparently, Rick’s father went missing and was presumed dead.
Rick was told by his mother that the man who made his father disappear was Jim Hollinger, the husband of Sritala and the owner of the White Lotus. This explains why Rick wants to find Jim, so that he can get revenge for his father. While Rick is not entirely sure what that revenge looks like, he reveals to Chelsea that he simply wants Jim to know what he took from him. Rick views these elements of the past as the things that ruined his life, explaining his excursion to Bangkok in The White Lotus season 3, episode 4.
