Former deputy national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, Wednesday, called for the immediate resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, from the party, accusing them of engaging in anti-party activities.
In a strongly worded statement, Chief George expressed outrage over what he described as the open and embarrassing association of Atiku and Wike with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that their continued presence in the PDP threatens the party’s unity and credibility.
“What exactly is going on? Anybody who is tired of PDP should leave and join another party.
“As a founding elder of this party, I will not stand by while some individuals openly disrespect the PDP. It is impossible.”
Chief George criticised Atiku for his recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna, questioning the political motivations behind the meeting.
“Buhari, though his former boss, is not a member of the PDP. So why is Atiku politically hobnobbing with him?” he queried.
