The Arewa Progressive Eagle Movement (APEM) has, Sunday, inaugurated the Oil Palm Tree Planting Project Committee in Funtua, Katsina state.
The APEM’s founder Alhaji Babangida Ibrahim Dauda, said the stride is a significant initiative for sustainable environmental restoration and grassroots economic employment and growth in the northern region.
“The 9-man newly formed committee, is tasked with the responsibility of spearheading the Oil Palm Tree Planting Initiative, aims to combat desertification and foster agro-based economic opportunities in the region,” he said.
The committee is led by Mr. Abubakar Shuaibu Idris, project coordinator, Sagir Lawal, Secretary, Abdullahi Aliyu Wali, field operations officer, Agronomist Ahmad Abubakar, technical lead officer I, Agronomist Yahaya Tanimu, technical lead officer II, others are, Uzairu Muhammad, community liaison officer,
Others are Abubakar Ahmad, monitoring and evaluation officer, Nazifi Kabir, public relations officer, and Ibrahim Mubarak, Katsina State Coordinator, respectively.
In his acceptance speech, Abubakar Shuaibu Idris thanked community stakeholders for their trust, pledging the committee’s commitment to transparency and hard work.
“This task is a privilege. We pledge to work day and night, not just to plant trees but to sow seeds of progress and hope for Katsina State,” he stated.
The ceremony, attended by a range of dignitaries from various sectors, was led by His Royal Highness, the Sarkin Maskan Katsina, represented by Magajin Garin Funtua.
He expressed pride in the community’s involvement and the recognition garnered for this visionary project, emphasizing its role in reinforcing local leadership in national development.
