The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon stars are set to unite in an upcoming episode of Night Court season 3 as the NBC comedy nears its season finale. Night Court season 3 has featured a number of comedic appearances from various guests, something that’s been a staple of the show since it began. This included a reunion between Abby actor Melissa Rauch and her former co-star on The Big Bang Theory, Kunal Nayyar, who appeared in a season 2 episode of the show.
Now, NBC Universal has confirmed Simon Helberg, who portrayed Howard in The Big Bang Theory, and Raegan Revord, who played Missy Cooper in Young Sheldon, will appear in the Night Court season 3 finale on Tuesday, May 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Helberg will appear in what’s described as a “game-changing cameo” for Abby, while Revord portrays a runaway teenager whose story reflects that of Michael J. Fox’s guest appearance from the original. In addition, the first half of the finale will see Marsha Warfield’s return as Roz, alongside guests Michael Urie and Ryan Hansen in undisclosed roles.
What Night Court’s TBBT & Young Sheldon Guests Mean For The Season 3 Finale
How Will Helberg & Revord Enhance The Final Episode?
The cast of Night Court is no stranger to seeing guests from Rauch’s previous show appear, especially since Nayyar had a decently important role in his own guest appearance. It seems this will be the case for Revord’s character, as her attempt at running away from home could be the focus of the season 3 finale’s last case. Because of the similarities to Fox’s appearance in the original show, it could pay direct homage to when he showed up, offering a similar story that has different beats to make it stand out.

Why Dan Fielding Is No Longer The Womanizer That He Was In The Original Series In His Night Court Revival Return
In the original Night Court, John Larroquette’s Dan Fielding was a notorious womanizer, but in the revival, he is a changed man for good.
However, the more unclear cameo is Helberg’s character, whose appearance will seemingly alter Abby’s story for the show moving forward. It’s possible that, whoever he’s portraying, their appearance has major repercussions the season 3 finale just won’t be able to resolve. He could be tied to a potential cliffhanger leading into a potential Night Court season 4, though what consequences his showing up could have for the protagonist remains unclear.
As of writing, Night Court has not been renewed for season 4.

They’ll Clearly Have Important Roles For The Season 3 Finale
With plenty of possibilities as to how the season 3 finale plays out, it seems clear both guests will have important roles in the final half hour of the season. Whether this lays the groundwork for future stories remains unclear, but it seems like their appearances will shape the final episode, and potentially Abby’s future in particular. With the final episode of Night Court season 3 just a few weeks away, it won’t be long until the importance of Helberg and Revord’s characters is fully realized.
