Founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, has recounted leaving his job with the World Bank and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to start a church in Umuahia.
Speaking during the inaugural live edition of the ‘WithChude’ podcast, the pastor shared how deeply uncertain he once was about starting a church.
He said: “One month after I resigned, I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life,” he admitted.
“I kept wondering, is this God? Can God really make me jobless?”
“If you’ve been tempted, someone wants to know how tempted were you. If you’ve ever tried to give up, someone wants to know how you tried to give up.”
The NSPPD founder also spoke about the rise of his now-popular prayer platform, revealing that “It wasn’t even called NSPPD at first. We just prayed. I didn’t know people could be famous for praying.”
He revealed that the fiery persona people see online is not his natural self.
“I’m very calm. People struggle to reconcile the ‘Fire!’ guy with the quiet me.”
