โ€œI want to use this opportunity to correct an omission,โ€ Tinubu said, adding: โ€œsome of those people that I missed out during the June 12 broadcast in the National Assembly, is Colonel Dangiwa.

โ€œToday, let me correct that by honouring him with national recognition of CFRโ€.

TNG reports Col. Dangiwa is a former Military Governor of Kaduna State, who took a courageous stance against the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election won by Chief MKO Abiola.

Following the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Dangiwa spoke vehemently and called for the restoration of Abiolaโ€™s mandate.

He was later detained on suspicion of conspiracy, but was not charged. After his release, he resigned his commission.
