An Ikeja Lagos Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, Monday, sentenced a bricklayer, Azeez Shoderu, also known as Chisco, to life imprisonment for defiling eight-year-old child (name withheld) in a toilet.
Azeez was convicted and sentenced on a-one-count charge by Justice Rahman Oshodi.
Azeez was a squatter at Ago-Hausa, Street, Ajegunle, Ajeromi Ifelodun local government area, Lagos, where he interacted with the child, and confirmed that he was at a toilet facility where the survivor was also present.
The survivor narrated how she went to urinate at the bathroom where the convict covered her mouth, placed her on his lap and had sexual act with her.
The offence contravenes Section 137, ch 17, vol 3 Laws of Lagos.
The evidence of the survivor was corroborated by the medical report, the Investigating Police Officer and medical doctor’s evidence showed that the convict committed the offence.
