Fire Service Recovers Dead Body From Kano Well

Officials of the Kano State Fire Service on Wednesday recovered the lifeless body of a 33-year-old man, Muhammed Sagir, from inside a dry well in Kawon Arewa, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the State.

The incident, which happened on Wednesday afternoon, was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi.

According to Abdullahi, the service received a distress call at approximately 12:42 p.m. from a resident, Sabiโ€™u Muhammed, who reported the discovery of a body inside a dry well located at Kawon Alhaji Sani Layin Mai Unguwa.

โ€œOn receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene,โ€ Abdullahi said.

The victim, Muhammad Sagir, was confirmed dead at the scene, and his remains were subsequently handed over to the ward head of Kawon Arewa, Alhaji Hamisu.

Authorities say the cause of the incident is still under investigation, as the circumstances surrounding how the deceased ended up in the well remain unclear.

The Kano State Fire Service urged the public to be vigilant and report suspicious situations or abandoned wells to prevent future tragedies.
