The Imo State Government is set to Digitise the real estate business in the state aimed at proper documentation and accountability within the sector.
This was revealed by the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma after a visit to the newly constructed Imo Land Information Service Center (IMLISC) situated within the premises of Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Owerri.
According to the governor, this reform will bring about decency, integrity, and accountability to the sector, thereby restoring public confidence and noted that the digitalization of land transactions will usher in transparency and put an end to protracted litigations in land dealings.
He said: “The time has come for the digitalization of the business of Real Estate in our dear State for proper documentation.
“This essential reform is key to instilling decency, integrity, and accountability within the sector, thereby restoring the confidence of the public and attracting prospective investors—especially now that we have created a conducive atmosphere for investments to thrive in the State.
“During my inspection of the newly constructed Imo Land Information Service Centre (IMLISC), situated within the premises of the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Owerri, I expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of work delivered.
“The center will provide critical services such as e-land search, land recertification, issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O), change of land ownership, among others.
“This initiative is a strategic step toward enthroning transparency and ending the era of protracted and unresolved litigations in land transactions.
“It is also a safeguard for the public, ensuring that unsuspecting individuals are no longer defrauded under the guise of land dealings.”
