Mbah Appoints Deputy Police Commissioner As Enugu Forest Guard Commander

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olamitisoji Akinbamilayo as the Commander of the Enugu State Forest Guard.

This is contained in an announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia, on Friday.

Gov Mbah, in the release, also approved the appointment of Colonel Dan Didiugwu (rtd) as the Chairman of the Enugu State Forest Guard.

According to the release, Col Didiugwuโ€™s appointment is subject to confirmation by the Enugu State House of Assembly. However, DCP Akinbamilayoโ€™s appointment takes immediate effect.

The release said the appointments were part of Governor Mbahโ€™s broader commitment to โ€œsafeguarding lives, property, and natural resourcesโ€.

Quoting the release, โ€œThese appointments are in alignment with the state governmentโ€™s ongoing efforts to strengthen and professionalize forest and environmental security operations across Enugu State.โ€
